A life of travel

OH how I would love to just pack up and travel. I'd be so content traveling the world and taking pictures and learning about different cultures. I would if I could afford it. But for now my travels will be on a budget and local. Just go visit friends I have around the country. It's my goal to visit all 50 states. I figured our country is so diverse and has a lot to offer why not experience it!? I'd love to take a road trip across the country but that cost money too.
One exciting place i'm going to visit is Ecuador!!! My friend Angie just took a teaching job there and it's a relatively inexpensive country and airfare is the same as if I was flying to Boston from Atlanta so why not!? I'm hoping to get a few dollars from graduation to fund this trip. I'm not sure when I'll be able to go but I know I'm going!!!
Angie and I also have a weekend trip to Huntsville, Al lined up. I know it doesn't sound like the most exciting town, but it's close enough to drive to on a tank of gas. Plus there's the NASA space center (I visited it in 5th grade and remember it being cool) Plus there's some safari zoo and some underground caves that all seem to have good reviews.
So if any one out there knows of cool places to visit or cheap travel ideas feel free to share!!

Buying the Dream

That's right. The powerball. it's currently at $252 Million. Now, I'm an educated rational person who knows the odds of winning are slim to none. But why did I buy two tickets today? Because of the dream. Just imagine what you could do with all that money. Ok, so half would go to the oh so lovely government but still. Half of 252 million is still A LOT OF FREAKING MONEY!!!!!

What to spend my money on: I'd help out my family and friends I know could use some cash. The economy isn't exactly every ones best friend at the moment. I'd invest some so I didn't have to work. You know the concept, "my money makes me more money". Then I would travel. I would go to disney and go in style. Do everything first class. Heck! I could pay to have the park open to myself and 100 of my best friends. Then I would travel the world. Just go running around meeting people and taking pictures.

I would rebuild and old house on some land. One with a wrap around porch would be nice. I don't need a mansion, Just a nice place to call home. But I'd buy a mountain house in the Appalachian Mnts and one out west in Colorado so I could ski. And I'd need a beach house too.

I would do fun stuff too like pay someone's bill at a restaurant or leave a crazy big tip. Little things like that. Or just put some money in someone's mailbox.

Life would be grand if I won. But I doubt that will happen so I guess I'll go to school and keep applying for jobs. But man it would be cool if I won.

What would you do if you won the lotto?

We're all a little bit the same

While sitting in my anthropology class my professor shared this documentary preview with us. It comes out tomorrow ( April 16). It follows 4 babies being born around the world. The four babies are from Namibia, Mongolia, Tokyo and San Francisco.
While I don't think there's a political motive behind this documentary, it's about the human spirit and how we're all really the same when we start out in this world. Plus who doesn't love cute babies?! I'm surprised Oprah hasn't found this out yet. It's something she would latch onto. I hope to see it soon (it's in select theaters). But I'll post my reaction once I see it.

Personality of Pets

Isn't it odd that animals seem to have their own personalities too? Its funny to watch them and wonder what's going on in that head of theirs.

This is Snowball. I rescued her when she was a little kitten from a dumpster. She's quite smart for a cat I think. She lets us know when she's hungry or wants to go outside. And if you don't get her what she wants, She'll start shredding paper. Odd I know. But she's supper supper soft and you just want to pick her up and hold her.

This is Gracey. She's stupid. I say that in the nicest way. She doesn't communicate, just has a blank stare. She doesn't really chase bugs like normal cats. Just looks at them and kinda reaches her paw out. She won't curl up in your lap, but simply perch on you leg.

These aren't mine, but I saw them at the zoo and though it was cute.

This is Kobe. He sleeps like this. He quite the dog too. He's very smart and very friendly. You'd just have to meet him to know his personality. He thinks he's a little dog and wants to sit in your lap.

The following are just funny/cute animal pictures:

Dolphins are my favorite.

House sitting Day 2: Dogs Dogs and More Dogs

Well Day two went a little better than day one. The AC is fixed... I think? The dogs are finally use to me. The little pup finally stopped growling at me for simply being in the room. We're moving in the right direction. But I've had a lot of dogs lately. I have my own dog, I'm watching 2 at the house, my parents watched my neighbors dog at our house for the weekend and then my cousin came over and brought his dog. That's 5 dogs in ONE DAY. It's a lot of dogs when I'm use to my one dog. Once one dog licks you, they all smell it and have to do the same. I'm ready for a dog break! I don't know how people have multiple dogs!

But since all the bosses at work are on vacation our staff meeting was very sparse but very productive I think. Funny how much work gets done when the bosses are gone. But only 5 intern days left! :)

House Sitting Day 1

So my boss at the internship took pity on me and gave me a chance to make money. When he asked if I wanted to make money I got excited thinking I was FINALLY going to get paid for my slave labor. But alas, it was  nothing work related. He just wanted me to house sit and watch his two dogs.

Now after one night of house sitting I'm feeling a little doped into this gig. First off, It's 20 mins from my current home and school which is slightly annoying. While it's nice to have place to myself and watch a movie in full with out a single interruption. There's no food in the house. He said I was free to eat his food. That would be nice if there was any! Secondly, The AC is on the frits and it's 80 outside. So because of growing up in house that rivals Alaska in temperature, I couldn't sleep from the heat.

While I'm a little disappointed in how this is playing out, I'm not sure if I'll spend the night again or not and just make the 20 min ride a few times a day. But all I know is I will be at work tomorrow working for free while he sits on the beach in south florida some where. luckily only 3 weeks of internship left and 4 of school!

And last of All. HAPPY EASTER!
